Day 4: Today I just want to bear my testimony of prophets and apostles. We have them today. They are good, kind, and concerned leaders. They are leaders who talk with God. They know us, they know the concerns of their church members, and they know the concerns of the world. In return they are also concerned for us and for the world. They have a strong and sincere desire to serve us and the Lord and I know they are diligently seeking to guide the church according to His will and what He knows will work best for us. I know they are selfless and charitable servants. I know they are imperfect, but guide perfectly and humbly. Sometimes it feels like there are few leaders who stand for what is right. Rather they stand for whatever pleases the most powerful, most noisy, and most profitable groups. However, I know that these men are not of the world and are not easily persuaded by the simple desires of men, but instead they have a bigger vision of what will work best that is not informed by men, but instead by God. I also know that if you give them a listen you will only want to hear more. https://www.lds.org/general-conference #40daysoftruth#LentChallenge2014

Day 4: I've said it once, I'll say it again, our Heavenly Father loves us. He has provided us with a beautiful plan filled with opportunities to help us understand who we are, what we are to do, and who we will become.
We must seek Him to help us understand ourselves. We were made in His image and likeness and if we follow ALL that He has asked we can become like Him. #40daysoftruth #LentChallenge2014

Day 4: Patience is a skill we must cultivate if we want to find happiness in life.
When we have learned how to wait:
We learn how to respect other's wants and desires along with our own wants and desires.
We learn how to control our impulses.
We learn to appreciate the process of life rather than the events of life.
We learn to have hope in things that are not yet. (If we don't wait for something, we have lost hope that it will ever happen. Patience is an expression of hope.)
I think life is a process. We have to wait to watch it unfold. I am grateful for the opportunities I have been given to wait. They have taught me how to hope, how to respect, and how to have joy in life.
I know waiting is part of God's plan for us. After all, He patiently waits on us. The world He created is a testament of waiting. Nature, geology, and the cosmos, all testify of a being that spends a lot of time waiting. I am glad I can learn to wait, I think it is a divine characteristic.
